The decline in the wealth of Crypto billionaires

After being hit by the crypto winter in the last few months, the world's crypto billionaires experienced an extraordinary difference in value, this resulted in the impact of the global crisis plus the collapse of several crypto companies that were also in trouble, thereby reducing public interest in transacting using crypto. Some of the world's crypto billionaires are currently experiencing a decline in wealth, whoever they are. 


The number 1 crypto billionaire in the world is still led by the CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ). Even so, CZ's wealth has decreased significantly to $31.4 billion from November 2021's record of $96 billion. Just like CZ, the Boss of Exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried has also experienced a more than 50% decline in wealth since Bitcoin listed its ATH. Currently, SBF's net worth is reported to be $10.1 billion from $22.5 billion previously. SBF business partner and CTO of FTX, Gary Wang becomes the third crypto billionaire with a fortune of $4.6 billion. reportedly holding a 16% stake in FTX and FTT global businesses, FTX's native token is around $600 million. Next held by Founder Upbit with a fortune of around $3.2 billion, Song Chi-Hyung became the number 4 crypto billionaire in the world. Chi-Hyung's main wealth is said to come from owning a 25% stake in Upbit's parent company. 


Ripple Co-founder and Executive Chairman Chris Larsen is next in line with amassing a fortune of $3 billion, down from the $4.3 billion recorded in April 2022. The company is currently battling the SEC over Ripple's ICO (XRP). Likewise, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is another crypto billionaire whose fortune has fallen drastically during the crypto winter. Noted, Armstrong's wealth touched $6.6 billion in April, before plunging to $2.8 billion today. 


Exchange Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are the number 7 crypto billionaires with a fortune of $2.2 billion each. The siblings started buying Bitcoin in 2012 and have since become interested in the industry and diversifying their digital asset portfolio.
